2014年9月5日：９月卒業生送別焼肉

卒業生の滝末です。
卒業して半年、久しぶりに平川研究室を訪問しました。

さて、先日の２０１４年9月に卒業する三名の秋好さんが卒業式を待たずに西条を出られるということで、焼肉大福へ行ってまいりました。

卒業した私（西条勤務）もよんでいただき、みなで楽しくおいしい焼肉をいただきました。
半年ぶりに参加して本当になつかしく、研究室での日々を思い出しました。

今年度卒業される三名です。
修論提出、本当にお疲れ様でした。

また、誰からも愛されていた秋好さん。
長野に行かれても頑張ってください。
本当に本当にお世話になりました。

International Education Development Forum (IEDF) 2013

The International Education Development Forum (IEDF) was held in Hiroshima University on December 14th-15th. More than 70 researchers from different universities, Waseda University, Nagaya University, Kobe University, Seoul National University, Ewha Woman's University, and University of Hong Kong participated in this forum. Every program was organized by students in Hiroshima University. We had a great time for sharing our research and promoting relationship between young researchers. Hope that we meet again anywhere!

Internship in IEA

I have been doing an internship in International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) in Hamburg, Germany since the end of July. Do you know what IEA studies are? Have you ever heard PIRLS or TIMSS? IEA has been conducting international comparative studies of school achievement since 1958. Please visit the following website. http://www.iea.nl/home.html  There are a lot of information about the workshop and publications. You can learn a lot!

The XV Comparative Education World Congress

We, Prof. Hirakawa, PhD student Bunnchay and Taniguchi, attended the XV Comparative Education World Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We presented the following two studies.

"Causes of Primary School Dropouts in Rural Cambodia: Multilevel Survival Analysis"

Kyoko Taniguchi and Yukiko Hirakawa,
"Dynamics of Community Participation, Student Achievement, and School Management: A Case of Primary Schools in Nkhta Bay District in Malawi"

After our presentation, we had an efficient discussion with other researchers.
We need to publish these contents of the presentation on journal soon!


We had a wonderful dinner on the date of the presentation!
Here, people eat a large amount of meat and potato! We were surprised the food culture of Argentina.

HAPPY KHMER NEW YEAR!
カンボジア暦、謹賀新年！

It was the New Year festival in ancient calendar of Khmer people. What an interesting cultural evening organized by Cambodian students at Hiroshima University... Delicious food, amazing performances, games, and more. We had a lot of dancing.
Who won at "Musical Chairs"?, of course one of Hirakawa's lab students :D :D
４月１４日(日曜日)に、広島大学会館にて、カンボジア旧暦でのお正月をお祝いする、カンボジアの新年祝賀イベントが行われました。IDECからも多くのカンボジアの留学生が参加し、文化紹介をしてくれました！
おいしい料理や素晴らしいパフォーマンス、ゲームなど、本当に素晴らしい催し物ばかりで、ホストであるカンボジア人と参加者みなが一体となって楽しい時間を過ごしました。
このお祭りの中で椅子取りゲームの出し物もありました。
ここで問題です、誰が優勝したと思いますか？
答えは、私たち平川研の学生でした！さすが平川研究室です。

本当に素晴らしいイベントでした！
ホストのカンボジアのみなさん、素敵な時間をありがとうございました！
